  5. This is version 1.13 of FTaskman.
  6.  
  7. FTaskman is a replacement for the taskmanager of Windows 3.1
  8.  
  9.  
  10. FTaskman has the following additional functions to the normal taskmanager
  11.  
  12. - display the icons of all tasks (switchable)
  13. - multiselection -> e.g. end several tasks
  14. - show also invisible tasks (switchable)
  15. - minimize other tasks when 'Switch to'
  16. - new commands:
  17.   + minimize selected tasks
  18.   + minimize all tasks with the exception of the selected
  19.   + minimize all tasks
  20.   + start spplications
  21.   + terminate tasks abruptly
  22.   + set tasks invisible or visible
  23.   + set tasks stay on top or delete stay on top
  24.   + tile windows horizontally or vertically
  25.   + arrange only selected windows

  27. There is an english and a german version of FTaskman.
  28. For the german version please read FTASKMAN.TXG.

  30. Installation of FTaskman:
  31. =========================

  33. - To use the german version of FTaskman you have to rename FTASKMAN.EXG
  34.   in FTASKMAN.EXE.
  35. - Copy FTASKMAN.EXE in your windows directory (or any directory you want)
  36. - Add the following line to the section [Boot] of the file SYSTEM.INI:
  37.  
  38.    TASKMAN.EXE=C:\WINDOWS\FTASKMAN.EXE
  39.   
  40.    (If you don't have copied FTASKMAN.EXE in the directory C:\WINDOWS
  41.     change this path to the name of the directory in which you have copied
  42.     FTASKMAN.EXE!)
  43. - If you want to use the library CTL3D.DLL (see below), you have to copy the
  44.   file CTL3D.DLL into the directory Windows\System.

  47. Commands of FTaskman
  48. ====================

  50. - Switch to: 
  51.     show selected tasks and activate the first of the seleted
  52. - End Task(s)
  53.     end selected tasks
  54. - Cancel
  55.     close taskman without doing anything
  56. - Minimize task(s)
  57.     minimize selected tasks
  58. - Minimize others
  59.     minimize all tasks with the exception of the selected
  60. - Minimize all
  61.     minimize all tasks
  62. - Cascade
  63.     cascade all mainwindows
  64. - Tile vertical
  65.     tile mainwindows vertical
  66. - Tile horizontal
  67.     tile mainwindows horizontal
  68. - Show invisible
  69.     show invisible tasks
  70. - Arrange only selected tasks
  71.     if you select one of the three arrange functions 'Cascade', 'Tile vertical'
  72.     or 'Tile horizontal' only the selected tasks will be arranged.
  73.     This option has no meaning to the function 'Arrange icons'.

  100. - Show icons in tasklist
  101. - Default: show invisible
  102. - Default: show full dialog
  103. - Default: Arrange only selected tasks
  104. - Minimize other tasks when 'Switch to'
  105.     If you switch to one or more tasks with 'Switch to', all other tasks 
  106.     will be minimized
  107. - Close only after 'Switch to' and 'End Task'
  108.     FTaskman will only close if you select 'Switch to' or 'End Task' or 'Cancel'.
  109.     With this option you can do some functions of FTaskman without starting
  110.     FTaskman again after each operation.
  111. - Save position on exit
  112.     The position of FTaskman will be saved so the next time FTaskman will
  113.     start at the same position
  114. - Sort tasks
  115.     Lets you choose if the tasklist will not be sorted, sorted alphabetically
  116.     or will be sorted reverse alphabetically.
  117. - Place invisible tasks
  118.     You can place invisible tasks at the top or at the bottom of the tasklist
  119.

  121. You can also access each command with a popup menu, if you press the right 
  122. mouse button in the task listbox.

  125. Invisible tasks will be marked with a 'ñ'.

  127. The tasklist will not show tasks which have no title, because the standard
  128. taskmanager also don't show them and there are a lot of untiteled windows 
  129. which your system uses for internal things.

  132. FTaskman will use the CTL3D library from Microsoft to let the dialog controls
  133. look 3 dimensional. If you don't like this look, just delete CTL3D.DLL or add
  134.  
  135. Ctl3d=0

  156. I am programming FTaskman because I have fun and not to make any profit. 
  157. That's why FTaskman is free and you don't have to pay more or less high 
  158. registration charges. I think it is a bad habit, that more and more program 
  159. authors want to have money even for the smallest programs.
